Hardwood timber shelves are fast becoming one of our most popular requests - and for good reason! Timber shelving is not just a storage solution, they can also add a statement to your home and add character and warmth to any room.
Our custom-made timber shelves are designed with your space in mind and custom finished to fit your space and aesthetic needs. You can browse our Slab Shop to view our wide range of timber types and shapes, and we’ll work with you to create the finish and dimensions that you’re after.
Our shelves can be finished with either a straight edge or a live (natural) edge, and are made from sustainably sourced, hardwood timber slabs that are salvaged, milled and kiln-dried by us.
We’re passionate about bringing a second-life to trees that might otherwise have been destined for landfill, and our floating timber shelves are just one of those uses.

Here is our process
Once you have given us your measurements, it’s time for us to find you the perfect slab! This takes time and man power - all of our timber is unique and one off, this means that we need to physically find you the right slab in our factory.
Your custom shelf will be made using one piece of timber (slab) that is approximately 45mm-48mm thick, hand sanded, resin filled and coated with matte wax oil - producing a premium product that will last a lifetime. When you source your shelving from The Wood Project you know you are getting a premium product that can not be replicated and is not comparable to “off the shelf” products mostly found in the big chain stores.
